Mr. Gregory 'Greg' P. Wood, age 62, of Acworth, GA., passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017. Mr. Wood was born on December 16, 1954 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to James G. Wood and Lillian Fox Wood.
Following high school, Greg served in United States Army. He later went on to spend most of his working career as a computer programmer with various companies. Greg truly enjoyed his career, and working on computers was one of his favorite hobbies. He was happiest being at his home in the woods. He was also passionate about family history and created an enormous family tree that spanned many generations. Though he enjoyed his hobbies and his work, his greatest accomplishment and joy came from being a dedicated son, husband, father, and grandfather; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father James G Wood; and one brother, David Wood.
Greg is survived by his wife, Elizabeth 'Beth' Wood; mother, Lillian Fox Wood; two children, Beau (Jenny) Wood of Marietta, GA., and Jessie (David) Fee of Woodstock, GA.; one brother, James 'Jimmy' (Martha) Wood; sisters, Cathie (Tom) Walz and Cherie (Jon) Walker; one sister-in-law Carol Wood; four grandchildren, Joshua Wood, Phoenix Wood, Madison Fee, and Noah Fee; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Memorial Gathering to honor the life of Greg Wood will be held from six o'clock in the evening until eight on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.

Rich and I are so very sorry for your loss. I am so happy to have seen you all at the "family reunion" two years ago. Greg was such a sweet soul and I am sure he will be sorely missed. Although Greg was an "older cousin" I have many fond memories of him. Prayers and love go out to you all. Erica & Rich
