Anita Ruby Forbess
Anita Ruby Forbess passed away on January 8, 2017 following a long illness of Alzheimer's. The funeral service will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 am, January 12, 2017, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel 4635 Oakwood Dr. Odessa, Texas with Don Norris of First Baptist Church, Odessa, officiating. The graveside service will be at the Andrew's North Cemetery at 2:00 PM in Andrews, Texas NW 14st Ave C. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm with a family gathering from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Anita was born on March 10, 1928, to parents, Ruby Lee Drury and Charles Henry Drury in Brownwood, Texas. She married Robert Lee (Bob) Forbess on June 5, 1965. She and Bob have lived in Odessa, Texas since 1965. Prior to 1965, Anita lived in Bangs and Brownwood, Texas.
She was preceded in death by parents of Brownwood, Texas and her brother, Beryl Drury and sister-in-law, Oleta Drury, both of Bangs, Texas. Anita was also preceded in death by her infant grandson, Jordan Robert Forbess.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Forbess of Odessa. She is also survived by son, Robert Scott Forbess (Kara); daughter, Marilyn Ann Bly Jones (Tim); son, Billy Charles Bly, (Karen); daughter, Jennifer Jean Bly Askew, (Larry); step-daughter Rhonda Gay Fry (Phil) and step-son David Kyle Forbess.
She is also survived by grandchildren; Matthew Charles Bly, Christopher Eugene Pitt, Laura Askew Conrad (Jim), and Leighann Askew Lopez (Luis), Daniel Scott Forbess and Brianne Nicole Forbess.
Anita Forbess is survived by six great-grandchildren: Laurianne Pitt, Timothy Michael Pitt, Shepard Askew Conrad, Sam Kennedy Conrad, Livi Rafaela Lopez, and Loralei Edith Lopez, and several step-grandchildren.
Anita's only nephew is Larry Drury (Celia) and only niece is Beverly Byrlene Curry (Johnny) all of Bangs, Texas. She has several great-nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 110 Mesa Park Drive El Paso, TX 79912, or online. Donations may also be made to the American Cancer Society, 811 Central Drive Odessa, TX 79761.

My prayers are for the family at this sad time. I lived a couple of blocks from Billy and his family growing up in Brownwood. I have lots of fond memories from those days. May God bless and comfort you in the days to come.
