Rose Marie (Sendi) Mulligan, 94, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Wyomissing Nursing Center. She was the loving wife of the late Gerald W. Mulligan. The couple were married in Holy Rosary RCC on April 27, 1946.

Born in Sharpsburg, Allegheny Co., Rose was a daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette (Lonzino) Sendi. She was a member of Holy Rosary RCC and then St. Margaret's RCC in Reading.

She was first employed with Fitwell Knitting Mills as a seamstress. Later she became the housekeeper for the priests at St. Margaret's RCC for 25 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club No. 4 with Olivet Boys Club.

Surviving are two daughters: Catherine (Mulligan) Herman, wife of the late James A. Herman of Columbia, SC and Frances A. Mulligan of Reading; three grandchildren: Lisa (Giardiello) Carter, wife of Richard Carter, Sr. of Columbia, SC, Joseph Giardiello, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Lancaster, SC and Melissa Mulligan of Reading and three great grandchildren: Richard Carter, Jr., Brandon Carter and Logan Mulligan.

Also surviving is a daughter in law: Robin (Gromling) Mulligan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose is predeceased by a son: Paul Mulligan; a daughter: Mary Elizabeth Mulligan and a sister, Violet Jablonski, wife of the late Lucian.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:45am on Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11am on Friday in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.
