Imogene Matthews, 84, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Jan. 17, 2017. She was born to Lee Wallace Deaver and Cora Farless Deaver on March 10, 1932 in Tolar, Texas.
Imogene loved her Broadview Baptist Church family and involved herself by joining the greeting committee. She enjoyed retail therapy shopping and still had many clothing items with tags intact. Imogene worked for Rainbow Bakery for 40 years.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, son Ricky Matthews, son Steven Matthews, and a brother Elton Deaver.
Imogene is survived by her son Eddie Matthews and daughter in law Debbie of Lubbock, daughter Jeannie Gibson of Odessa, sister Myrtle Lindsey of Burleson, grandchildren: Chris Matthews, Kelly Poplin, and Michael Gibson of Lubbock, and 6 great grandchildren.

Aunt Imogene I love you so much, in my younger years you were always there for me when I couldnt turn to anyone else. You are now at peace and in the arms of Jesus. Rejoice with all of your loved ones that had gone before.
