Jeanne Marie (Desroches) Guillotte, age 83, of Fairhaven, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur A.J. Guillotte.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Daigneault) Desroches, she had resided in Fairhaven for the past 54 years.
Mrs. Guillotte had worked as a stitcher in the local textile industry.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Guillotte was very involved in her Church and prayed The Rosary 3 times a day. She enjoyed word search puzzles, religious television, and watching movies. She cherished the time spent with her beloved family. She bore the cross of a serious medical condition with grace for 33 years and was a distinct example of patience and fortitude to all around her.
Her family includes a daughter, Anna Daniel and husband Gerald of Underhill, VT; two sons, Steven Guillotte and John Guillotte and wife Jennifer all of Fairhaven; a sister, Lucille Barwick of New Bedford; three brothers, Roger and Gerard Desroches of New Bedford and Donald Desroches of Acushnet; six grandchildren, Aimee, Geoffrey, Gregory and Abbey Daniel, Amanda and Seth Guillotte; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven siblings.
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 9 am from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 pm. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Flowers welcome or donations in Jeanne's memory may be made to St. Francis Xavier Building Fund, 125 Main St., Acushnet, MA 02743.
