Ellen Marie Curtis, 67, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, January 21, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in Ogden, Utah she was the daughter of the late Alfred David Young and Erma Lucille Ross Young. Miss Ellen enjoyed volunteering at Health South for many years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and her Lord dearly. She is survived by her son, Stephen W. Curtis and his wife Anna; stepson, Paul Curtis, Sr.; grandchildren, Paul Curtis, Jr., Stephen and Taylor Curtis, Paige Ferris, and Danielle Brown; three great-grandchildren; brother, David Young of Illinois; sister, Kay Minor of South Carolina; aunt, Nina Ruark of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. Miss Ellen requested not only a Celebration of her Life but a Party which will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 5 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Andrew Morgan will officiate.

I am thankful that I got to know Ellen during the time I worked at HealthSouth. She endured her physical limitations with unbelievable strength and fortitude. She was truly an inspiration to others, and was so dedicated as a volunteer there. Heaven has gained an angel...rest in peace Ellen.
