They moved to Kyle Road on Oyster Creek in Clute, Texas, in 1944 where he attended Temple Baptist Church, was catcher in Little League baseball, attended Clute Elementary and Junior High, then Brazosport High School-playing and excelling in baseball and football. He was awarded the Sammy Baugh trophy for All-State guard position on BHS' Exporter football team. Pat attended the University of Texas, on an athletic scholarship, playing offensive guard on their 1958 freshman team. He returned home to work for the Dow Chemical Company, beginning at the Dow Reservoir as a fishing guide and then in Mag lll dipping metal, and as Plant B union steward and then foreman in the Environmental department until retiring in 1995. He was recognized by Dow Chemical supervision with many awards for his innovative solutions over the years.
Pat and Ginger were married in the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Jackson, Texas, December 28, 1963. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling and researching their ancestors as well. Both from pioneer families of Texas, Pat's 4th great-grandmother Elizabeth Plemmons Tumlinson was the first woman to receive a land grant, August,1824, in Texas from the Mexican government some of which she donated the land for the city of Columbus to be built upon. (Husband, John Jackson Tumlinson, first Texas alcade, was killed in battle with Comanches around Seguin,Texas, 1823).
Pat will be remembered for his generous and thoughtful spirit, lifetime love of fishing and hunting, salty and frank language, dry humor, strength and determination. He was so much his own man, speaking forthrightly, loving his family.
The family will have a memorial celebration of Pat's life in the early spring. May God's blessings go with him, his family, friends and nation.

Going to miss cousin Pat so much. That special sense of humor
that he had. Peace in knowing he's together again with fishing buddies
Pappy, Bill, and Paul in heaven. What a reunion that must have been. All with no more pain and totally healed.
