Fleasha M. Gomez, age 81, of Dawsonville, died Sunday, January 22, 2017. Funeral is Thursday, 11am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Burial will be Friday, 10am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
Mrs. Gomez was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. A caregiver most of her adult life, Fleasha was the person who would step in if there was a family member, or neighbor, in need. She loved life and lived it her way. One of seven children, family was her world and Mrs. Gomez provided a loving home for family and friends alike. She was preceded in death by her husband – Edward Gomez, son – Gary Gomez, parents – Clayton & Villa Brown, and her sisters – Mary Henderson and Melba Harp.
Survivors include her children: Eddie Gomez and family, Michael Gomez and family, Ramon Gomez and family, Ricky Gomez and family, Rona Smith and family, Estell Butler and family, Lynda Clanton and family; brother – Kenny Brown; sisters – Jean Welch, Bunzie Simpson, and Peggy Jenkins; 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
The family is receiving friends on Wednesday from 6-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Fund at First Baptist Church in Dawsonville.
