James A. Sanders, a resident of Dale County, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at St. Vincent's Chilton Hospital in Clanton, Alabama. He was 75.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery (Rocky Head) with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 prior to service time on Thursday.

Mr. Sanders was born March 26, 1942 in Dale County and lived most all of his life here. He was employed as a welder with Carter Manufacturing for many years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ziglar Sanders and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a sister, Sue A. Faulk (Kenneth) of Ariton and a brother, Marrell Sanders of Dothan; a step-son, Eddie Outlaw; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Even though I did not see him in recent years besides being married to my sister Arthur was a friend from school. He was a kind and loving person and will be missed. May your memories comfort you in the days ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
