Ruth Heflin Obituary
Ruth Jean Davis Heflin, age 85, of Front Royal passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Front Royal Baptist Temple with Pastor Tim Kirchoff officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens in Waterlick. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home.
Mrs. Heflin was born on November 13, 1931 in Morristown, NJ a daughter of the late Lawrence Reinald and Kathleen Saffell Davis. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed puzzles, games, sewing, gardening and especially her family.
Mrs. Heflin is survived by her children, Gwen Lynn and husband Michael of Maine, Linda Daly and husband Tom of Silver Spring, MD, David Heflin of Front Royal, Eric Heflin and wife Belinda of Winchester, Gary Heflin and wife Song of Michigan, Nancy Ross and husband Ken of Winchester, John Heflin and wife Karen of Stephens City, and Joanne Heflin of New Market; her grandchildren, Susanna Lynn, Thomas Lynn, Rebekah Markham, Joanna Lynn, Stephen Lynn, Thomas Daly, Michael Daly, Rebecca Floyd, Josh Heflin, Eric Heflin, II, Krystal Hall, Lori Baker, Emily Hoff, Sandy Jo Cremona, Kenneth Ross, Jr., Erica Ross, Stephanie Ross, John Michael Heflin, Jacob Heflin, Cara Heflin and Ashton Strosnider; her great-grandchildren, Kerith Lynn, Olivia Lynn, Hannah Lynn, Dylan Baker, Tiffany Daly, Kyle Floyd, Cody Choloski, David Hall, III, Kaylee Adams, Natalie Heflin, and Lillian Strosnider; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heflin was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Rev. Herbert H. Heflin in 2011, her brothers, Lawrence Davis and Raymond Davis, and her great-granddaughter Madison Baker.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in her name to the Green Valley Baptist Church Water Project, 8292 Winchester Road, Front Royal, VA 22630 or the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202
