Joseph Raymond Marmoll, of Glen Ellyn, IL and Buchanan, TN, died on Monday, January 30, 2017, at home in Plainfield, IL, after a fight against lung cancer.
Joseph was born in Chicago, IL on February 17, 1950, to the late Raymond and Erma (Allen) Marmoll.
He attended Glenbard West High School, entered the Army in 1967, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1970.
Joseph received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1973. He spent the majority of his career as an Internal Revenue Agent, retiring in 2009 after 34 years of service.
Joseph enjoyed water activities and chose to live his retirement years in Buchanan, Tennessee on Kentucky Lake.
He is survived by his sons, Eric (Mareya) and Travis. His five grandchildren, Peyton, Colin, Joseph, Ellie and Patrick. Also surviving Joseph is his girlfriend, Zemy Brown, and his canine companion, Zack. His brothers, John and Chet (Nicki) Marmoll. His sisters, Helen Marmoll and Judi (Charlie) Miller. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Williams, and sisters, Mary Jirovec and Susan Jahn Stanula.
The wake will be held from 3 PM to 8 PM on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Cypress Funeral Home, 1968 Bloomingdale Road, Glendale Heights. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 AM on Saturday, February 4th, also at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, at St. Matthew Church, 1555 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights. Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery, located at St. Charles Road and Riford Road, Glen Ellyn. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Joliet Area Hospice would be appreciated.
