Clyde Melvin Reeves – 76, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017.
He was the son of the late James Albert Reeves and Mary Rebecca Stewart Reeves and was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn Wilson Reeves, sister, Betty Cook, two brothers, Lloyd and Ray Reeves and step-son, Jeff Stone.
Clyde was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the Navy Reserves as a Seabee. He also retired as a business agent for the Roofers Union. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #91, Masonic Lodge, York Rite and Knights Temple. Clyde was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard and flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Reeves, son, Butch Reeves, two daughters, Cherie (Thomas) Davis, Tonya (Donnie) Mantooth, of Summerville, S.C., grandchildren, Celina, Christian, Gwennie, Beatrice, Thomas, Katie, Matthew, step-grandson, Michael Stone, sister, Virginia Clayton, brother, Lavon Reeves, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2nd, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1st, at the funeral home.
