Charlie Craddock, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, February 01, 2017, at Blue Ridge Manor. He was born, February 6, 1931 in Patrick County to the late Charlie David Craddock and Flora Pendleton Craddock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence Craddock and Curtis Craddock; and sisters, Doshia Foley, and Frances Rogers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Genevieve L. Craddock, sons; Gary Craddock of Pilot Mountain, NC, and David Craddock of Spencer, VA; sisters, Nancy Craddock, Margaret O'Dell, and Glenda Shively, all of Ferrum, VA; brothers, Otis "Pete" Craddock, and wife Pansey, and Lewis "Luke" Craddock and wife Jan, all of Ferrum, VA; and three grandchildren, Landon Craddock, Kendall Craddock, and Kayla Craddock.
Mr. Craddock was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bassett where he served as a Sunday school superintendent, Deacon, and Usher. He enjoyed playing golf in his free time and also served in the Korean War.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Collins Funeral Home with Dr. David Towler officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 730 E Church St #13, Martinsville, VA 24112, or Tabernacle Baptist Church at 2480 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055.
