Shirley A. Wolf, 82, of Lancaster County, formerly of Reading, passed away into the arms of her Savior on January 29, 2017. She was the best stay-at-home mom anyone could ask for and she always catered to her family's needs above her own.
Shirley was known for her loving nature. She loved Jesus and never missed an opportunity to share His love with others. She dearly loved her family and friends. She welcomed her children's friends into her home and made them feel as though they were part of the family. Food was another way she showed love, and she was a great cook and baker, volunteering her time and talents to many organizations and events.
She was born in Reading, a daughter of the late Henry and Viola (Himmelberger) Hartranft. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond "Sam" Wolf, and her three older sisters.
Her daughters, Karon Wolf-Brosey, married to Bill Brosey, and Robin (Wolf) Wanner, each gave her a grandson. Colin Brosey and Austin Wanner were her joy! They made her laugh and were dedicated to helping her in any way she needed. Bill was more like a son than a son-in-law and was an advocate for her and her care in many ways.
Kevin Kirlin, a family friend, was a "son" to her and an intricate part of everything that involved Shirley and her family! She had another "family" she loved at Ephrata Manor, where she called home for the past three years.
Shirley was a Sunday School superintendent for the Jr. Dept. for 19 years. She was part of Good News Club for 25 years and volunteered for many years at Community General Hospital.
Her legacy is God's greatest command - that we love Him and others - she did it well! She was a member of CEC, formerly St. Paul's EC Church.

Shirley was a wonderful friend, great cook, always dependable when she took on an obligation. She was the best Good News Club hostess and helper and a super Junior S.S. Dept. Supt. to work with. Good cleaning lady, too. Appreciated everything about her.

Robin and Karen and families,
Praying for you as you grieve the death of your beloved Mom! I have many memories of Shirley, all of them make me smile! Your Mom, and your Dad, always made me feel special whenever I saw them. I especially will remember the way Shirley "looked after" my Dad, and told me what he was up to when I visited at Ephrata Manor. Perhaps they are meeting again and singing praises to our Heavenly Father.
May God give you His strength and peace and may the amazing legacy and memories she leaves behind bring you joy!
Love, DebbiSue Longenecker Hoover & family
