Mary Erdelen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2017.

Mary Lee Erdelen (nee Heiger) died February 1st, 2017, with her best friends by her side. Born to Louis and Hilda Rubenstein on January 17, 1933, Mary Lee had a long, rich life. Though she lost both of her parents at a very young age when living in Indiana, her grandparents and aunts made sure she was raised in a loving home. Her Aunt Lucille in particular raised her like a daughter and the two of them shared an amazing bond. Mary Lee married James Erdelen, the love of her life, on April 30th, 1966, and they shared a wonderful twenty-three years together until his death on February 13, 1989.

Mary Lee was a talented vocalist and performed at many weddings and events. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church and very active in the Ferguson Lions. Mary Lee had an amazing circle of friends and was beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by her dearest friends, Flo Rose and Sue Rose and their families, who loved her as their own, as well as several cousins and many friends.

Services will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, located at 11223 Scheutz Rd., St. Louis, MO 63146, on Tuesday, February 7th, with the visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ferguson Lions or St. Richard Catholic Church.
