Ben Moore, 89, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully February 4, 2017. Ben was born in Bismarck, Arkansas, to the late Robert and Lula Moore.
Ben and Elizabeth owned Ben’s Furniture Store and after retirement he enjoyed gardening and traveling.
An avid “atlas in hand” traveler, his journeys to California to visit his brothers were among his favorites. Ben would also follow along in his atlas as his children would check in during their own travels.
Faithful to the church, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Ben met Elizabeth Ridgway at a church youth retreat. He went home and told his mother he had met the girl he was going to marry. A few years later, Ben and Elizabeth married and shared 65 years of faith, family, and friendship until her passing in 2015.
Ben will be remembered by his children David (Cindi) Moore, Beth (Don) Medley, and Donna (Chuck) Van Horn, as a man who truly cherished his time with his family. Ben will also be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial will follow at a later date.

His daughter Donna and I were best friends when we little kids. I grew up three houses down from them. He was always nice to me and and invited me to church often.
