Jeannine Marcelle Fontaine Lovelady passed peacefully among her attending family at the age of 91 on February 4, 2017 at the House of Hope, assisted living facility for Alzheimer's in Wichita Falls, Texas where she had resided nearly five years.
Jeannine was born in Paris, France to Marcel Jean Fernand Fontaine and Renee Eugenie Fontaine. The love of Jeannine's life was Steve Odis Lovelady, one of the many young American men who came marching into Paris during World War II. Jeannine and Steve were married on April 29, 1947 in Paris. They had five children Delorse, Marvin, Randall, Joycelyn and Joel.
Jeannine worked part of her life as a bookkeeper and volunteered for the Red Cross at Shepherd AFB several years and was cited as outstanding volunteer of the year. Jeannine was also an excellent seamstress, sewing clothing at home for women customers and specialized in alterations.
She loved to travel and visited many exciting places, including Spain, Ireland, Russia, Israel, England, Greece as well as many places in the United States with each of her children. Jeannine also enjoyed playing card and board games with family. She enjoyed her church community, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iowa Park for many years.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband Steve in 1991, by her infant son Marvin in 1949, by two sisters, Rene Herve and Raymonde Neve, and three brothers, Guy and Robert and Jean Fontaine.
Jeannine is survived by her children: Delorse Lovelady (and spouse Saul Snatsky) of Seattle, WA, Randall Lovelady (and spouse Beckie Lovelady) and Joycelyn McAllister of Iowa Park, TX, and Joel Lovelady (and spouse Kris Lovelady) of Electra, TX. Jeannine is also survived by six grandchildren: Heather Carpenter of Abilene, TX, and Lindie Howard and Lauren Minderman of Iowa Park, TX, Robert McAllister of Newport, TN, and Tiffany McAllister of Whitesburg, TN and Hayden Lovelady of Electra, TX. Eleven great-grandchildren survive Jeannine: Ethan, Joshua, Jackson, Collin, Claire, Caitlyn, Hannah, Elise, Weston, Thai, and Brody. Jeannine is survived by three sisters in France: Simone and Suzanne Fontaine and Marie Jose Fuzet and many French nieces and nephews, including, Danielle, Veronique, Janick, Caroline, Fabienne, Stephane, Guy, Sandrine, and Bruno.
