Mr. Emmett Louis “Lou” Dorris, Jr., age 78 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away February 7, 2017. He was born in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Margaret Rebecca Hutchenson Dorris and Emmett Louis Dorris, Sr. and was raised in Detroit and Farmington, Michigan. Lou was in concrete sales for over 40 years, having retired from Wayne Davis Concrete. He was a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Lou was a great Husband, outstanding Father and exceptional Granddaddy who loved his family. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Dorris; sons, Scott and his wife, Kelly Dorris, Todd and his wife, Nianjun Dorris, Lance and his wife, Sonya Dorris; niece, Linda and her husband, Leroy Rogers; grandchildren, Danielle, Jacob, Mckenzie, Larkin, Owen and Kayli Dorris. Memorial services will be conducted Friday, February 10, 2017 – 11:00 AM at the Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. Floyd Carmack and Rev. Kimbrough Pace will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. Contributions are asked to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at http://giftfunds.stjude.org/loudorris.
