Many years ago I received my O.R./Surgical Tech training at (Baptist) Memorial Hospital and worked w/ Dr. Zuhdi. He was a wonderful teacher and amazingly talented surgeon to learn from. I was very greatful for his kindess and patience toward me as a student.

I am an RN who worked with Dr. ZUdhi. Took care of many f his patients and was amazed that he looked at the patient and usually his and say " give him a pint of blood. Knew what the patient needed by looking at him not a bunch of papers.

He was also the MOST GENEROUS person in the world to nurse. He came in to the CCU and told us all to go to a certain Jeweler and select a ring we wanted which was an initial ring. It was so cool and I still have mine.
My friend and her children and I lost a house we were renting due to a fire. Dr. ZUdhi found out about it and he arranged for us to stay at the Hilton Hotel and it was cart blanch. We were suppose to eat there and invite our friends to join us there and there was no limit to how long we could live there. We tried very hard to not take advantage of this dear mans generosity but he insisted we enjoy it in the mix of the tragedy. When we moved out of the hotel Dr. ZUdhi and his wife Annette came and gave me a check for the bill. I will never forget this brilliant generous man and it was an honor to work with him and to know him. May God rest his.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Dr.Zuhdi's
death.I was fortunate to have scrubbed in for him on many of his heart procedures at St.Anthony Hospital, and saw some of his first innovative heart procedures performed on his patients.
He gave his all to his patients, and their well being was always a priority.
He taught me so much, and for that I am grateful.
He was blessed with the gifts of healing, designing, and inventing to help better cardiovascular surgery.
I am grateful to have worked with Dr. Zuhdi, and to have known him as a person,a physician, and as a friend.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Annette and his children.

To Annette, Nazette, Farouk and Newha,

Please accept our deepest condolences at this sad time. Nahzi was a special individual. We salute him in all his scientific ground breaking achievements. But we will remember his friendliness and smile the most. When Nazette and our daughter, Crystal, were friends in preschool together, we were included in some of your activities. We were always greeted warmly and treated graciously. I still remember Nahzi giving us a John Hall Brown painting as a housewarming gift. We still have it 40 years later. Nahzi was a kind person. Our prayers are for comfort for all of you.

I worked as a CNA many years ago and was blessed to have met this most humble and gracious of men. No matter how heavy his schedule or difficult his task he was always present, in the moment, and treated everyone he met with kindness. Gratitude to his loving family for sharing him with us.

Dr. Zudhi, Greer & Carry did a heart repair on me in 1966. I had been misdiagnosed for 18 years. As a wedding present, they accepted only what the insurance company paid. He asked if I had any questions prior to surgery and when I told him no. He told me I would go home in 10 days and I would not die. If I had not had this repair I probably would not have lived beyond the age of 35. He has given me an extra 34 years so far. Hopefully his family will find peace in all the good he has done over the years for so many people.

I was 3 when he did my open heart surgery in March, 1961, and was the youngest patient he had operated on. I am forever grateful for him and his genius. He was a wonderful humanitarian as well as a surgeon, inventor, family man, and friend.

I was number12. It was September 1986 when I was told my heart was not functioning well enough to keep me alive. On October 1 Dr. Zuhdi gave me a new heart and 30 years later I remain in excellent health. Not only was he my healer he also became my close friend. The meals and conversations shared by my wife and I with Nazih and lovely Annette are the best of memories to be cherished. As a scientist, inventor and surgeon his contribution to medicine is immeasurable. A man of passion, humility, compassion and love he will be missed and remembered by many. Nazih Zuhdi has definitely left the world a better place and his spirit will live in our hearts and minds forever. Our highest regards and our deepest sympathy to Annette and the entire Zuhdi family. My admiration runs high for Dr. Zuhdi, as he was my cardiologist in about 1968 - I was abt 8 and this fine man did only what was needed by performing a catheterization on me. Thankfully, i survived. May you rest in peace.

Dr. Zuhdi performed my father's triple bypass in 1972. My father lived 21 more years due to his skillful hands. In 1978 his son, Omar was one of my high school teachers at Shawnee High School and I was honored to him for sharing his knowledge with me as well. My prayers are with the family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of this. Dr. Zuhdi was an indefatigable walking life force. I have a lot of wonderful Dr. Zuhdi stories, but my favorite is when he left me winded while walking (he jogged) up about 8 flights of stairs (I was only 28 years old - so do the math). Oklahoma City is a better place, and many lives have been saved, because of this visionary and pioneer. I feel fortunate I had the opportunity to work with this man.

I affectionately called Dr. Zuhdi, Dr. Z, during my 5 years as a surgery resident at St. Anthony's, 1975-80; he was my mentor who I loved & was always treated with respect. He taught me so much about surgery, but also how to treat patients & their family with kindness. Many times he treated my wife & me to dinner during those 5 years & also a vacation in New Orleans. My deepest sympathies to his family; his passing is truly a great loss.

Dr. Zuhdi was such a wonderful doctor and person. Operated on my husband in 1988, we had no insurance at the time, yet he went above and beyond to make sure everyone treated us the same as those with the very best insurance. He always took interest in our personal life, just treated us like a good friend and extended my husbands life for more years than he otherwise would have had. Prayers for the Zuhdi family in their great loss, loved this man and his nurse, Vi,
