Linda L (St Aubin) Bird (6/3/1952 - 2/11/2017), beloved wife of Charles Bird and a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan, died in Henry Ford Macomb Hospital after a prolonged illness.
Linda was the daughter of David A St Aubin and Lou (Coumans) St Aubin. She was born and raised in Mt Clemens, graduating from L'Anse Creuse High School in 1970.
She fell in love with her future husband, Charles Bird of Detroit, Michigan in 1971. They were wed September 14, 1973 at St Peters Church in Mt Clemens. She is survived by Charles, and her brothers David (Skip) St Aubin and James St Aubin and many nieces and nephews.
Her early work life included being a waitress, factory work and store clerk. She worked several years as a bank teller. She last worked for several firms as an accountant before establishing her own successful practice.
Naturally athletic she excelled in softball and bowling. She was close to becoming a professional women bowler before her health kept her from pursuing that interest.
Linda was given a life-saving lung transplant at the University of Michigan Hospital in 2001. This gift enabled her to enjoy 15 ½ more years with a restored quality of life to share with her husband and family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and entertaining family in her home.
Linda was a rare, unique, loving, caring, compassionate person. Among her gifts was the ability to make each person feel special. She showed how special they were to her by her attentiveness to them and their needs. People felt her special warmth as a true friend and family member. Children, seniors and animals were all drawn to her kind and gentle nature. Others would know her for her genuine regard and acceptance.
Among her many talents was cooking and baking. If you were fortunate to be someone for whom she cooked, you would often be surprised at her choice of something made particularly with you in mind. Those meals were made for you with love in heart and were memorable.
There will be a simple brief memorial service at St Peters Catholic Cemetery In Mt Clemens at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to any Humane Society. She would urge you to enroll as an organ donor with the Gift of Life as it not only gave her so much but she was in turn able to give so much to others.

Charley we are all so very sorry and heartbroken. Linda was one-of-a kind. The kids and I talked about what they will remember most about Linda and all three
said, "she was so easy to talk to." I think that is quite an understatement. She always made us feel comfortable and I can't remember her ever saying a harsh word about anyone. I had the privilege of bowling on a league with Linda once - I looked foolish next to her! Her strength was beyond comprehension. Such a happy day when she received her lung transplant and she was rid of that oxygen tank for several years to live again! Just know that we will miss her terribly and we are here for anything you need Charley. Love, Nelle, Jeffery, Kyle & Meg

Dear Charley, Mogens and I are so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. Your tribute to her is beautiful. I remember well when we were dinner guests at your home. She was a most gracious hostess. I was also impressed with her bowling prowess and how clever she was with cards. I know you stood by her through the difficult times. I remember when you grew out your hair for a wig for her. She was a trouper. I pray that you will find comfort in the sweet memories of your many years of dedication to each other. Jane and Mogens.

Charley; we are so saddened to hear of Linda's passing. We have so many memories and of fun times and get-togethers. She was a dedicated and loving wife that always put her family first. I remember one birthday where we wanted to cook for her...but she ended up making a special meal for all of us! That's what she was all about...showing strength and fight all along the way. We are truly blessed to have known her. Meg & Tom (Waterford MI)
