He served for over 40 years at North Syracuse Baptist Church as the “go to” person especially as head usher for many years. They retired in 1992 to Asheville, NC before moving to Bedford, TX in 2008 to be near family before Alma Mae’s passing in 2009. Dick immediately jumped in and got involved in the senior adult program at First Baptist Hurst. He loved people and took an interest in all he met. He wanted to help everyone! Dick served the Lord faithfully while on earth and now worships his Lord in heaven.

Carole & Dan, Dave & Nancy, and Grandkids,
Your Dad and Grandpa influenced many people during his life. A masterful basketball player, he was a true leader of boys and men through Christian Service Brigade, and a friend who gave good advice. He was fun to swim with in the Adirondacks, too. Where did he get all his energy?!
Mr. Hill is greeting all in Heaven with his bright smile, energetic handshake, and clicking the lights to move folks on to the Service. We are sorry for your loss and will remember your Dad and Grandpa fondly.

David, Carol and families,
Every church needs a Dick Hill and every man needs a friend like Dick. Dick and Alma Mae were special people. I will miss the phone calls and the packages which were so important to Dick and I know Nancy should get much of the credit for. You were a great supporting family. I can hear the echo now: "Welcome good and faithful servant"!
