Adeline Dunbar, 90, of Hot Springs, passed away February 12, 2017. Addie was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Sam and Ethel Demopoulos.
In 1947 while working in her father’s coffee shop, Addie met a young serviceman named Frank Dunbar. They married the following year and shared more than 68 years of faith, friendship, and family. Addie and Frank’s love never faltered and they never forgot how to have fun together.
Addie’s life was about her family. As a young mother, she volunteered as Linda’s Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Later when she became a grandmother, her life became sleepovers, outings, and any way she could spoil her grandchildren.
Meeting Addie in Heaven will be her sons, James and Robert, and her step son Lawrence.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband Frank Dunbar; daughter Linda (David) Hickman; grandchildren Desiree Kise, Kelsey Dunbar, Tracey (Johnny) Byrne, Tammy (Tyler) Kamholz, Kimberly (Franco) DeAstis; and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Addie’s Life will be held in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider Marklund Children’s Home, 1 South 450 Wyatt Dr., Geneva, IL. , 60134.

Mom, it's been one year today and I miss you so much. Never a day goes by that I don't think about you and wish that you were still here. I love you so much. Until we meet again...Hugs!

The knitting needles are stuck in the yarn, never to "knit one pearl two" again. The crochet hooks are all snuggled into their case, never to make another doily. For Adeline has left them here for us, too gaze upon and remember all the things she made. The needles and hooks are retired now for Adeline has left this worldly place and resides with the Angels in Heaven.
Miss You Mom,
Dave

Hello Skeeziks and Linda and family. My Uncle Ron told me about Adeline, and I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. I wish I had known her better, but everything I do remember is of a lovely and sweet person. More of my memories are of Aunt Ethel, of course, whom I always looked forward to seeing at the High Holydays at my grandparents' home. She, too, was a kind, sweet woman, and I'm sure she passed on her ways to her daughter and that the generations to follow, beginning with you, Linda, carry on that legacy. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may your beloved wife's, mother's, grandmother's memory always be for a blessing. With love, Cousin Cindy (Ruth's daughter) and family
