Kaye Bell Whittemore, 63, was granted her wings on Feb. 15, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, all that she had touched in so many ways throughout her life. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 at Collier Butler Chapel with the funeral service at 3 p.m. The Revs. Lauil Thompson and Bill Drummons will officiate. Burial will be at Williams Southside Memorial Park. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services. Kaye lived most of her life in Southside. She was a member of the Class of 1971 at Southside High School. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Kaye was survived by her husband of 46 years, Jimmy Whittemore; son: Andy (Jessica) Whittemore, and their children Drew, Anna Grace, Mason, Will; daughter, Lesley Jolly and her daughter, Alyssa; parents: Boyd and Emma Bell; sisters: Lisa Amberson (Matthew), Fran Clayton (Katy, Caleb, Miller, Alana, Kreed), Amy Bailey (Tim, Kirbie, Mitchell, Abbott, Langlie, Weston), Leigh Millhoff (Jon, Lucas, Lora, Averi) and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Tim Bailey, Jon Millhoff, Matthew Amberson, Lucas Millhoff, Miller Clayton and Weston Bailey.Honorary pallbearers are Drew Whittemore and Toby Jolly. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Missions Fund. Many thanks to: Dr. Fareed, the nurses, and staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Dr. Evans for his kindness and encouragement, the nurses and staff at UAB Hospital; the staff and church family at Southside Baptist Church. Kaye had many special blessings in her life, among them her husband, Jimmy. His unconditional love for her, especially through her illness, was a testament to his commitment and love. The love she had for her granddaughter, Alyssa, was undeniable, always making her happiness a priority. A special thank you to lifelong friend, Jan Gilmer, and to her Bunco family. Lastly, to Andy Whittemore, for his dependable role in being the support system for the entire family through this difficult time.
