Carol Tusa Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 18, 2017.

Carol Solomon Tusa, born August 26, 1942, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017.

Mom to Toni and Mark; mother-in-law to Jan; Granny to Mallory, Mason, Kathryn and Jacob; sister of Albert and Ashley; daughter of Irma; but mostly a friend to all. If you were fortunate enough to have been touched by Carol, you would completely understand the special person that she was. Carol’s touch was everlasting. We thank all of her friends who never stopped showing their love and support. A very special thanks to Grandma and Albert. In the words of Albert, “It was an honor to do this for your mother.”

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Carol’s life with a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

Toni, Mark and Family. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was my mentor when I stepped into the legal field back in 1984. We remained friends when she went into real estate. She was an amazing woman who loved life. She was one of a kind. She never met a stranger. My deepest condolences to you all.

I am so terribly sad since I read her obituary in the Times Picayune newspaper this morning. Carol was a one of a kind friend. She had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. I met her through my sister Carol about 48 years ago and considered her a beloved friend. She gave me shelter after Katrina because my home got seven feet of water and for this she had my special gratitude. I send my love and prayers to her family.

Carol and I became instant friends when we first met in 6th. grade. She was instrumental in me having my first date with my husband for which I was always grateful. We have remained friends all these years. Carol was as beautiful inward as she was outward. Rest in peace.
