February 17, 2017, at the Dallas, Texas Veteran Administration Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, William Hunter was granted his angel wings. In Valdosta, Georgia, William was born April 4, 1940 to Obediah Hunter and Margaret Bivins. He attended Pinevale High School, (Valdosta, Georgia,) Savannah State University, (Savannah, Georgia) and Dallas Baptist College, (Dallas, Texas). He was the proprietor of William Hunter and Associates, Real Estate and Construction Projects. Also, William was a decorated United States Army Veteran. May 5, 1968, William gave his life to Christ, baptized at the Allen Avenue Church of Christ, Fort Worth, Texas, later becoming a member of the Mountain View Church of Christ, Dallas Texas.Throughout his life, William was a very active businessman, certified as an Income Tax Preparer, Real Estate Broker, Commercial Management Consultant and a Master Residential Appraiser. Also, William was a successful gardener. He enjoyed planting vegetables, freely sharing the produces with the community.
William is survived by four children: Dr. Margie Waters (Augusta, Georgia), William S. Hunter (Dallas, Texas), Tamara Rushing (DeWayne)(Dallas, Texas) and Ashton Hunter-Williams (Dallas, Texas); Grand Children’s Ashton Hunter-Williams (Jr); Olivia Rushing Siblings: Winston Bivins (Valdosta, Georgia), Alton Bivins, (Brenda) (Palatka, Florida) and Brooks Bivins (Valdosta, Georgia); Deceased Siblings: Clara Hunter-Smith (Miami, Florida) and Christopher Bivins ( Florence, South Carolina); Special Relatives and Friends: George Bivins, James Bivins, Fredrick Bivins, Willie Roberts, Beverly Bivins, Linda McNutt and a host of other beloved family members.
