George Dudley Allman III passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in Dallas, TX at the age of 75. He was born to George Dudley Allman II & Ola Fay (Milligan) Allman on August 21, 1941 in Dallas, TX.
George proudly served in the United States Army as a Captain for 11 years. While in Vietnam he served in the IV Corps as a Commander of a Forward Incursion Group of MACV-SOG. MACV-SOG was a highly classified group (were actually commanded by Special Assistant for Counterinsurgency & Special Activities (SACSA) & his staff at the Pentagon) with many incursions into Cambodia. He was decorated for action in IV corps but never recognized for over 50 incursions into Cambodia. He suffered for years, the effect of “Agent Orange”, of which our government vehemently denied for decades. Captain Allman finally succumbed to the many complications from Agent Orange.
George worked in Environmental Safety for over 30 years. He was a Dallas Sheriff’s chaplain. He was also a member of the Mustang Creek Community Church. In high school he was affectionately known as “Porky”. He loved to play golf, drag racing, & NASCAR. He also enjoyed boxing and was a black belt in martial arts. He enjoyed dancing and music, especially Opera.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Dudley Allman II & Olay Fay Allman; son, James Allman; & brother, Robert Allman.
George is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janett Allman; son, Tim Allman & wife, Cindi; daughter Amy Lyons & husband, Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Tina Allman; grandkids, James Allman II, Matthew Allman, Lauren Allman, Nathan Allman, Tyler Perron, Alexandria Lyons, Savannah Lyons, & 3 great-great grandkids to cherish his memory.

Over the years I have tried to keep in contact with George after he left Lake Charles, LA. I managed to talk to him once in Terrell and then lost track. I am sad to hear of his passing as I recall many safety activities we attended together and dove hunting on his land S of town. He was an honorable and honest man, which I hope can be said of me. RIP friend.

George came to my mind today, as he has from time to time over the years, and when I googled him just now I was saddened to see that he passed a few months ago. My deepest sympathy to Janett, Tim, and the family.

To the Allman family, our deepest sympathy. It was a great pleasure working with George in our many years together at EPA. I will always remember my last trip with George and having the honor of visiting his fallen son at the nearby cemetery on our way to Lake Charles, La. and my ride in his Buick which I believe is the biggest and best riding car I have ever been in. I still have the touching and inspirational letter he composed and read at my retirement. I will keep it always.

George was a childhood friend and fellow get in trouble type of guy. The memories never leave me of all the times we had, good and bad. A life lead to the fullest, many would give a lot to to be part of his life. He lived, moved, traveled, and loved all the people he ever met.
He will always be a big part of my memory bank never to be forgotten. Love ya man.

I wish I could have spent more time with Uncle George. I will always have memories as a little girl laying on his big belly! He was a man of strong faith and that is what always stood out for me the most. May God bless and comfort you Aunt Janet, Tim and Amy and all of his grandbabies.

I am glad I had the opportunity to meet and work with George. He was an ambassador for Christ in the workplace, always positive and upbeat, who loved to be with people and encourage all those around him.

My brother Mike and I went to school with Porky (George) and we were not only friends, we were a family. If there was fun going on the three of us plus another 4 or 5, were in the middle of it. And if there was some mischief we were not only guilty, but we were the cause. George, was one of the best friends anyone could have. He and Janet were made for each other. You have our love and our hearts go out to you for the loss of the love of you life. Mike and Sharon Flanery

To the family of George Allman. First let me express my deepest sympathy in your loss. The world definitely got a little dimmer and heaven a little brighter because George is there now. He was a good, hard working man, that loved God, loved his wife and family and loved his country. I enjoyed working with him in the late 80's at the U.S. Environmental Protection. You just didn't work with George, you shared life with him and we became life long friends for over 30 years. We hunted together in his father in laws land in Lake Charles, LA. I will miss his smile, laughter and being able to talk with him. I know this is only temporary and we will see each other again. I will continue to pray for your family that God's peace will surround and keep you. Yours In Christ, Dusty Pruitt (Chickasha, OK)

George, after reading the comments of others I suddenly realize how very little I knew of George Allman the man. In the short ten+ years that I have known you I got to know a man that was proud and dedicated to a previous life while exhibiting that same pride and dedication within our community. I would like to say that it has been a pleasure to call you a friend, neighbor and a fellow HOA director. "Rest in Peace My Friend"

George was an exceedingly kind man. When I was sick and had no vacation time, he gave me his hours. When we were facing lay-offs, he took the bullet for me. He brought me in, trained me, and taught me everything he knew. Truly, George was a loving and selfless man. We will all miss him dearly.
