Eugene F. Hoagburg, 86, passed away on Sunday evening, February 19, 2017. Born September 18, 1930, in Fort Wayne Indiana, Gene was the son of the late Gustav and Edith (Conahan) Hoagburg. Gene was a member of St Henry's Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.
Gene loved trivia and games that tested his knowledge, especially about the movies. His biggest movie hero was John Wayne, and he was proud to own every movie the Duke made. He enjoyed showing everyone his photo with another favorite star, Debbie Reynolds, taken in Las Vegas.
Surviving are brother Frank Hoagburg and sister Patricia Johnson, with whom he resided for the past few years. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, family and friends, all who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his siblings; Marguerite, James and Wallace (Wally) Hoagburg, Marie Seymour, Ola Hoagburg and Elizabeth Johnson.
