Janet Ann Parkinson, 56, of Charlottesville passed away on February 21, 2017. She was born on December 30, 1960 to Janet Sheehan Parkinson and David Ross Parkinson.



Janet was a long time resident of Fairbanks, Alaska, before returning to Charlottesville for the last 5 years. She was a devoted daughter, and cherished sister, with a heart of gold for everyone.



She is preceded in death by her father, David Ross Parkinson of Portersville, CA, Uncle, Henry T. Sours of Richmond, VA, William Terrell Sheehan, Jr. of Staunton, VA; Uncle and Aunt, James Sloan and Emily K. Kuykendall, of Winchester, VA; Grandparents, William Terrell and Alma Elizabeth Sheehan of Staunton, VA; Aunt and Uncle Robert W. and Mary Ray Armstrong of Charlottesville, VA, and cousin, C. Randolph Beard Jr, of Essex Fells, NJ.



She is survived by her mother, Janet Sheehan Parkinson of Charlottesville, VA; sister, Linda Parkinson Lacy and her husband, David J. Lacy of Virginia Beach, VA; Uncle and Aunt C. Randolph and Mary Terrell Beard of Vero Beach, FL; Aunt Elizabeth Sheehan Sours of Richmond, VA; niece, Jessica Lacy of Newport News, VA; nephew, Joseph Lacy of Chesapeake, VA; cousins, Deborah Ames Beard of Vero Beach, FL and Mary Ellen Beard of Santa Fe, NM. Other friends and extended family are left to cherish her memory.



A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville.
