COUSINS, Thomas S.J. 82, of Tampa, FL, born in Brooklyn, NY, passed away February, 22, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 21 years, Carol Cousins; his three children, Christopher, Cynthia, and Timothy; his five grandchildren, Ashley, Anthony, Alyce, Alexa, and Michael; three siblings, Doris, John and Janet (Robert, deceased); and Carol’s two daughters, Sharon and Tanya. He proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. Thomas spent his professional life working in Finance and Accounting. He embraced “giving back” to society through multiple hours of volunteerism: cabin counselor for a hospice Grief Camp for children; hospital volunteer, community HOA associations, religious education and more. Thomas loved baseball. The Brooklyn Dodgers was his favorite team and he managed a AAA Dodgers Training camp for teens at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, FL.. He loved sports, especially playing golf. A graveside burial service will be held at FL National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL , on Friday, March 17, at 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 8401 W. Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33615, on Saturday, March 18, at 10 am, immediately followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Thomas Cousins to Camp Circle of Love LifePath Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300, Tampa, FL, 33637, or Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, PO Box 23827, Tampa, FL, 33623.
