Betty J. Lance, 74, of Chenango Forks, passed away on Thursday, February 23 at her home. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John A. Lance III; her grandson, Zebariah Lance; and her sister, Sally Oakley. Survivors include her children, John A. Lance IV and Barbara Tallett, David and Rebecca Lance, Richard and Judy Lance, and Margaret and Brett Harrison; her grandchildren, Roxanne, Johnny, Dylan, Raven, Ashley, Tyler, Rachel, Richard, Ian, Sarah, Wyatt, Levon, Tiffany, and Derrick; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister in law, Rosemary Downs; her brother in law, Everett Oakley; and her very special friend, Grace Perih. Betty was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear and sharing in the good times as well as the bad. Her presence will be missed by her family. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 27, at Highland Park Alliance Church, 126 Meadow Dr. Greene, NY with Pastor Jeffrey Cutting officiating.
