Renee McKaig, 61, of East Ridge, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

Renee was born and raised in Chattanooga. She was a graduate of East Ridge High School, Class of 1973, retired from TVA Sequoyah Nuclear Plant as a Computer Specialist, and was a member of Crosspath Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell McKaig; and mother, Freda North.

Surviving are her son, Brian McKaig; step-daughter, Jessica Aaron; father, Jim North; brother, Rod North; sister, Rhonda (John) Ward; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6:30 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the funeral home.

A Memorial Service will follow at 6:30 PM with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Crosspath Church, 4201 Ringgold Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37412.

I'm so sorry to hear of Renee's passing! I know you take comfort in the fact that she is not suffering and is in heaven. Renee was my best friend in the 11th and 12th grade at East Ridge High School. After high school, we went in different directions and lost contact. I grew up in church with her at South Seminole Baptist Church. Rest in peace Renee
