Anne Mae Young Landry (Memaw), passed away at age 90. She was a devoted loving wife. She had a long and great life as a mother of three, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother.
She was from the era where everything was homemade from scratch. Consequently, this made her an awesome homemaker. She left this world for a new adventure with her husband and son on February 28, 2017.
She was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, on April 17, 1926, where she joined a small family of brothers, William and Donald. Her family left Canada and arrived in Los Angeles in 1941.
She met and married in 1945 the love of her life, Morris J. Landry. They were founding residents of Lake Jackson arriving in 1945 and purchased one of only two houses left for sale in town. The house was on one of the original streets, Camellia St.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Joseph Landry; son, Donald Joseph Landry; parents, James Harry Young and Georgie Elsie Patriquin; three brothers, William, Donald and Wayne Young.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Landry Selman, of Austin, TX, and Theresa Gayle Landry Woods, of Lake Jackson, TX; grandchildren, Georganna Gay Selman Carlisle, of Carrolton, TX, Michael Gary Selman, of Austin, TX, Anna Mauryn Landry, of Lake Jackson, TX; three great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one brother, Edward Young; three sisters, Beverly Marie Landry Schumacher, Gay Elizabeth Young Abajian and Joann Young; one brother-in-law, Earl James Landry; and many nieces and nephews. She will surely be missed by all.
