Cornelia Hansbrough Corder departed this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 peacefully at her home in Culpeper, Virginia. Better known as Tatty, she was born in Mitchells, Virginia to the late Mary Quann Hansbrough and Ernest Hansbrough on January 27, 1923.
Cornelia retired from Safeway, Inc. after 28 years of employment. She was an avid Orioles baseball fan and enjoyed discussing the games with a great-niece. Cornelia was a member of Culpeper Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cleave W. Corder; her brother, Woodrow S. Hansbrough; her sister Vera F. Hansbrough; and a special aunt, Eleanor Quann. Cornelia is survived by her daughter, Kay C. Suder and husband Roger; a grandson C. Brannon Suder and wife Melessa; a close cousin, Dorothy Faulconer; and a niece, nephew, and great-nieces.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers that made it possible for Tatty to stay in her home. Caregivers were Judy Garrison, Christine Dodson, and Darlene Johnson.

Kay we are so sorry for your loss. I cannot express enough how much she will be missed. Mom certainly loved her with all her heart. I certainly had many laughs with her in person and of course when I would call and check on her. I hope you will find comfort during this time.
