Wilma Allene Childress, 84 of Nitro, WV, passed away March, 2nd, 2017.
She was born the daughter of the late Laymon and Myrtie Witt Myers. She was also preceded in death by her son Gregory Scott Childress.
Allene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Emory Childress; her son Ric (Cindy); Timothy (Linda) and daughter Kelly Taylor (Johnny); seven Grandchildren Chris (Kristi); Matthew (Melissa); Scott; Jessie (Jeff); Caitlin; Nicole and David; also surviving are five Great Grandchildren Jeffery; Allie; Dawson; Clayton and Madison. Allene retired from Putnam County Schools as a Cook after many years of service.
The family would like to express our extreme gratitude and appreciation for Robin Mitchell for her loving care of our mother.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387. The family would like to thank CAMC Teays Valley Hospital and Hubbard Hospice West for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be Monday, March 6th, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Rd., Cross Lanes, WV 25313. Services will be Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Scott officiating.
