Martha Louise Venable Donham, 92, of Little Rock, AR, departed this life to live with her Lord and Savior on March 3, 2017. Martha was born December 10, 1924 and after being born in Bonita, Louisiana she lived the rest of her life in Little Rock. Martha was a loving wife to her late husband, Gordon Ralph Donham, as well as a loving and devoted mother to her three children and two stepsons.
Martha loved taking trips to Destin, Fl., and Branson, Mo. Until her health would no longer permit, her favorite pastime was working in her flower gardens.
Martha was a member of Chenal Valley Baptist Church. Her church family was very special to her.
She will be remembered for her enthusiastic spirit, her devotion to her family and her unwavering commitments of unconditional love, faith in God, and forgiveness without regrets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Carrie Venable, husband, Gordon Ralph Donham, stepson, Thomas Larry Donham, brothers Wesley Venable and Williard “Sonny” Venable, and sister Alice Mobbs. She is survived by two daughters, Jo Lynn Short and Nina (James H) Williams, son David Ralph Donham and stepson Gordon Ronald (Gwen) Donham, sisters Mary Ann Vaughn, Stevie Joncas, Lillie Erwin and brother, James “Buck” Venable, and sister in law Ann Nutt. Martha had 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 with her celebration of life service at 10:30 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas. Reverend Allen Morton will be officiating. Pallbearers include: James Ward, Spencer Short, David Short, Jason Donham, Jim Williams, Bush Williams, and Tony Erwin.
