Carol J. Blackburn, 89, of Crystal Lake, IL, passed away on March 7, 2017 at Bickford Assisted Living Facility surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born in Illinois, near Camp Grove, in Saratoga Township on June 1, 1927, to Chester and Garnet (Scarcliff) Naven. She married her love, Thomas Blackburn, in Pekin, IL in 1949.
Carol was a realtor for many years in Crystal Lake and Lake Zurich. She was passionate about her work and finding homes for her clients. She loved being with her family and put up with many antics from her husband, children and grandchildren. She always loved her trips to Las Vegas with friends and family. Time spent with her dear friends was always special to her and created some of her favorite memories.
Carol is survived by her children, Thomas (Ellen) Blackburn and Susan Hartman; grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) DeRusha, Jamie (Justin) Rougeau, Jorie (Justin) Kerl; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, Adam, Bryleigh, Jackson and Jace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Ralph and Donald Naven.
A special thank you to her Bickford family and Journey Care Hospice for the wonderful care she received.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will take place in Bodkin Cemetery, Fithian. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave. 7th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001. Online condolences may be made at querhammerandflagg.com.
