PANIKER, Kamala D., age 75, of Tampa, FL, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Moffitt Cancer Center. She was born August 29, 1941 in Madras, India, the daughter of Parwathi Amma and Gopala Panicker. Dr. Paniker came to the US in 1971 from Kerala, India and led an illustrious life as a brilliant pathologist at various institutions. She retired from the practice of pathology and was happily settled in Florida to spend a relaxed life. Kamala was full of strength and taught her children and grandchildren to be the same. She embodied grace and dignity to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Vasudeva Paniker; daughters, Lekshmi Paniker and her husband, Jose Brito and Uma Paniker and her husband, William Kremers; sister, Krishna Joseph and her husband, Thomas Joseph and grandchildren, Mohan and Priya Brito. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace.
