Theresa Ann Runco, 91, of Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Anthony and Philomena Runco, passed away on March 2, 2017, of natural causes. She is survived by two brothers, Anthony Runco of Pittsburgh, PA, and Samuel Runco of Lewes, DE. Theresa was a life-long resident of Pittsburgh, having grown up in East Liberty and graduated high school there in 1942. She worked for McClelland & Notar Insurance Company for forty-two years, establishing for herself a successful career at a time when women did not traditionally pursue professional careers outside of the home. Theresa lived independently until November 2015 when a fall necessitated her move to Berks County, PA to be closer to family members. She passed peacefully at the Berkshire Center in Exeter, PA where she had been a resident since July 2016. "Aunt Theresa" became an icon of love and generosity in the lives of so many family and friends. The consummate listener, Theresa took with her the histories of all those fortunate to sit and share her company. A memorial mass will be held on May 27, 2017, at 10:00 at the Church of the Epiphany, 184 Washington Pl, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, followed by a procession to Calvary Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum for the interment ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Epiphany or St. Mary of Mercy Church 202 Stanwix St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
