I never knew you SFC Mancini, but I know someone who did, and I know that person to be someone of great character, a loyal, dear friend, and she was touched by you, and loved you dearly. As I love her dearly, and care so much for her, I can only feel cheated not to have met you. You hold a high place in her heart, and I can hear and feel the love she had for you. As a veteran myself, I am blessed to call you a brother, though we served at different times. Thank you for you service, thank you for your sacrifice, and the world was a better place with you in it. I hope your pain is gone, I hope your peace is at hand, and I KNOW your presence is still among us. Peace brother.

I first met Brian through the Sun City Grand Veterans Group at a donation honor dinner in which I was fortunate to be able to donate money from my company for the honor house for which Brian had started. I had also had the pleasure of meeting him several other times on different occasions in which The Sun City Grand Veterans Group had met for different veterans functions. From the first time that I met Brian I got the feeling of a person who truly cared about what he did and gave everything he had to help his fellow veterans. Brian and I had several short conversations about his dreams of trying to help his fellow veterans in any way he could. I know from learning about Brian he far succeeded those expectations by giving of himself to his fellow vets and helping them in anyway that he could. Brian will be truly missed and I pray for his family and friends but most importantly I hope that others might learn from his efforts to help his fellow veterans and continue his dream by playing it forward. I am very proud that I knew Brian, he was truly an angel to help our veterans. God Bless You Brian and thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you have done not only for your country but also your comrades. Sincerely, Tom Fletcher

Brian's smile lit up a room, the moment he walked in. As a member of the SCG Armed Forces Support Group, I worked closely with Brian making videos, and I learned from him what PTSD was all about. I am so proud of all that he has accomplished and we often joked that I wished he were MY son. Brian, from the first day I met you and Eric on the San Juan River in New Mexico you both have been in my heart. You and I have had a number of opportunities to meet together and each was an extreme pleasure for me. You so openly shared the challenges of your recovery from severe wounds received while giving care to your comrades and you dedicated so very much of yourself to helping others. As you know you were a guide to me. When I was injured and went through several months on intense pain you were spiritually with me. At times when I thought the pain was too severe I said to myself Brian has been through far worst. At moments like this we Catholics often offer our pain up for another. It is a commitment we will pray for that person each time pain becomes very intense. The idea is that as Christ endured pain and death on the Cross for us, we will share our pain for a special friend though prayer. Brian, you received many prayers from me in those week. You and your family will in them for months ahead also. I'll miss sharing one of those big delicious sandwiches at the Miracle Mile Deli with you. But each time I am there you will be in my thoughts. God Bless you Brian Mancini!

Sergeant Mancini, when I met you I thought you were a little abrasive, but as our deployment went on I realized that you were a soldier, a soldier like me, trying to carry out your work the best way you could. When you came to help our squad, after my truck was hit, I saw the determination in your eyes, and how much you cared for all you were aiding, as I assisted you that day I earned a great respect for you. When we got to Texas for our demobilization you told me something that I always remembered, thank you. Rest easy Sergeant.

There is celebrated greatness..and there is quiet greatness. Brian had quiet greatness, He survived and dealt with challenges that very few people had to face. I knew him thru my wonderful wife and his family. Each time I spoke with him he was just kind and had a great soul. It is terribly sad to lose him. He represented the best of people and the best of our country. His sacrifices for our country could never really be repaid. The world is diminished by his passing. May the lord keep his soul close and may he have the peace he deserved after such a valuable important life.
