Eddie Banks Harris, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2017. As we all morn his death, there will be a celebration of his life on March 10, 2017. God, Jesus, and all angels rejoice as this precious man ascended to heaven. Pastor Jeff Rhea will perform the ceremony at Community Funeral Services at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the funeral. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Vivian Hodges Harris. He was preceded in death by his infant son Eddie B. Harris, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his mother Classie Amos Harris and father Tommy Harris. He was preceded in death by his siblings Tommy Cameron Harris, Sr., Freddie O'Neal Harris,Sr., Bobby James Harris, Sr., and Knettie Knowles and several nieces and nephews he loved. He has one surviving daughter, Terri Harris Mullins and his son-in-law Kenneth of Collinsville, Va. He has one surviving son Timothy Dale Harris and daughter-in-Law Jolene Harris. He is also survived by two grandsons Jason D. Mullins and his wife Meagan R. Mullins, Jacob Q Mullins. He is also survived by two granddaughters Jonnie N Harris and Kelsey C Harris. He is survived by one great granddaughter Anna Lorien Mullins, as well as a grandson Maverick James Mullins, who is arriving in June. He is also survived by his sisters Kay Walker of Collinsville, Mary Lamkins of Martinsville and Betty Green of Berlin, New Jersey. He is survived by his brothers Jerry Harris of Martinsville, and Lewis Harris of Martinsville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends. He always stood back to help everyone else shine, so giving and loving. Now he shines so brightly in heaven and leaves so many truly Special memories for us here on earth. Mr Harris served in the US Army.

I didn't get to know my papa as much as I would've liked to, but I loved him all the same. He will be missed greatly but I know he's in a better place pain free. I will always love him and he will live on in my heart.
