Thurman Brient Brady, Jr., age 80, of Front Royal, passed away Thursday morning, March 9, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born March 31, 1936 in Bluefield, he was the late son of Thurman Brient Brady, Sr. and Delores Afton Burge Brady.
Thurman is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Faye Bolton Brady and brother James Brady.
Thurman was loyal and hardworking, a man guided by strong values, respect, and faith. An avid fan of NASCAR and the Washington Redskins, he also enjoyed classic country music, gardening, and soaking up the sun on a beach or on a porch swing.
He is survived by his five children and their spouses; Tony and Lori Brady of Front Royal, Pam and Len Ferrara of Purcellville, Kim and Bruce White of Gerrardstown, West Virginia, Josie and Vernon Carlson of Winchester, and Michelle Black of Front Royal; eleven grandchildren; TJ Brady, Jessica Brady, Chris Brady, Somer White, Samantha Price, Alana Black, Lindsey White, Cristina Ferrara, Adam Black, Alex Carlson, and Grace Ferrara; five great-grandchildren; sister Joyce and George Scholenberger ; sister-in-law Sally Brady and many other nieces nephews and loved ones.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Turner Robertshaw Funeral Home from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to a service starting at 3:30 p.m.
