Louise Gilbert Pinkard, age 96, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab Center.
She was born in Mayodan, N.C., on January 29, 1921, to the late Lemley C. and Mary McGhee Gilbert.
She was a member of Starling Ave. Baptist Church. She was in a Rook Club and a Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Pinkard.
Surviving are her children, Terrell P. "Terry" (Donald James) Horres of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and C. David Pinkard of Martinsville, VA.; 2 grandchildren Eric Shade and Erin Sadler; 2 step grandchildren Julie Gillett and Paige Owens; 5 great grandchildren Kate, Reilly, Jack, Cole and Emerson
Family will receive friends Wednesday 1 pm to 2 pm at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad St., Martinsville, 24112, with services to follow at 2 pm with Rev. Susan Spangenberg, officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

Terry, so sorry about your Mom. She was such a sweet lady. My Mom passed away last month (Feb. 20th), she was 93. Prayers to you and your brother. I still remember what great fun I had staying over night at your house when we were growing up; your sweet Mom did so many little extras for us. Blessings to all your family.
