Josephine Spoto, 94, passed away on March 16, 2017. A Tampa native born to Sicilian parents, she loved her Italian heritage. She had a long career with the federal government, working at MacDill Airforce Base, the U.S. Embassy in Sweden, and at the Pentagon. After her retirement, she moved back to Tampa and earned her bachelor's degree in humanities, with a minor in Italian, from USF. She enjoyed traveling, attending the theater, and opera. She is survived by her loving niece, Patricia Felicione Green, and by many great nieces and nephews. Aunt Jo will be missed dearly. Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church Fri., March 24, 2017 at 10 am; viewing at 9 am.
