John Foster, age 75 of Muskegon, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017. John was born in Light, Arkansas to Cledes and Nora Foster. The family moved to Muskegon when John was young, where he attended Muskegon High School. After high school, John served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. During his time on leave, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Lou Cobb, and together they would share 55 years of marriage. In his younger years, John enjoyed golfing, bowling, and gathering with friends at the VFW Post #446. Above all though, family was the most important thing to John. He cherished his time spent with them at family cookouts, get-togethers, and the Superbowl party he would host every year. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and we will all miss him. John was preceded in death by his parents, a son John Jr., and a son-in-law Bob Messenger Jr. John is survived by his wife, Linda; Children: Renee (Brian) DeCheney, Annette Messenger, Chad (Holly) Foster, Brian Foster; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); Daughter-in-law Vicki Foster; Many extended family members. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00am at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel in Muskegon. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to services.
