Lloyd G. Burkenstock, Jr., Phd., a native of New Orleans, La and resident of River Ridge, parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle passed away peacefully Friday, March 17th at the age of 89. Born April 19, 1927, he leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Constance DeGruy Burkenstock; his daughters Constance A. Burkenstock (Linda), Jeanette B. Battle (Erich); his sons Harold L. Burkenstock, Sr. (Terry), Bruce G. Burkenstock, Sr. (Judy), Lloyd G. Burkenstock, III (Jane), Bryan A. Burkenstock (Susan), Brent L. Burkenstock; brother Charles T. Burkenstock, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Lloyd G. Burkenstock, Sr. and Margarite Gross Burkenstock and grandson Ryan G. Battle. Served in the U.S. Navy hospital corp during World War II; attended Tulane University 1945, received B.S. in Biology and Pharmacy from Loyola University 1953. Received a doctorate in pharmacy from Loyola University in 1982. Retired District Manager from Bristol Laboratories, and a member of River Ridge Lions Club, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society; member of the St. Matthew the Apostle Parish Pastoral Council, an Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion, past Sacristan, past member of the Usher’s Society, Parish Life Ministry and Vocation Ministry.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church (River Ridge) on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Visitation 10:30-12:30 with mass to follow. Interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. The family would like to thank Wanda Kemp and Katherine Jacobs, for their care and support.
