Ann and I became acquainted while working as secretaries for the Fayette County Bd. of Ed. We bonded after discovering that we followed the same career paths. We both began working for the Federal government in Washington, D.C. upon graduating and later returned to West Virginia nearly the same time beginning new careers in our home county. Ann was such a pleasant person; always smiling no matter what she was going through. She was truly a great testimony of God's grace. My prayers go out to the family. Psalms 115:16

With a heavy heart I say good-by to Ann. She was our neighbor, friend, and always caring about others. She loved life, and her love of people showed in every thing she did. She had more courage than anyone I have ever known, never complained! An angel gained her wings when Ann crossed over, we may say good -by today, but we shall meet again! May God give you, Angie and Doug comfort in your time of this sorrow...

Angie, Doug, and families,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of your wonderful mother. The first time I remember meeting your mother was in the fall of my 8th grade year when she was Miss Senior Pirate (homecoming queen) and my sister Judi was the 9th grade's Miss Junior Pirate. We were at the Saturday night dance at the Legion Hall sometime after that and I remember her complimenting my sister. When Judi returned the compliment, Ann was so, so gracious. I can still remember being in awe of her poise and, again, graciousness. Even told my mother when I got home how impressed I was with her. When I moved back to Fayetteville in '77 and we became reacquainted, she was still that kind and gracious person I had admired in junior high! Always with a smile and always with a kind word. Oh, and I also thought she was THE Best dancer of all the older high school girls who frequented The Legion Hall on Saturday nights. That's where I learned both the Stroll and the Continental and I tried to do them just like she did. As adults, she and I continued to dance together at some of the Jr. Womans Club activities, and it really distressed both her and me when she was no longer able to dance. You should be very proud and consoled by all the glowing comments about your mother both "around town" and on Facebook. Fayetteville has lost a fine woman/citizen/friend. I will be traveling to get grandchildren to spend their spring break with me, so am sorry I will not be able to tell you how much I admired her in person. Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you this week-end.

I had the distinct honor to meet Ann at FHS 50th reunion. My mom, Sharon, asked me to attend with her and I had a blast - and it wasn't even my high school reunion. During the 2 day event, Ann always had a smile on her face and a joyful heart. She worked with my Mom in DC and were very good friends. Mom always told me stories about Ann and the goodness of her soul. My heart breaks for Ann's family.

With deepest sympathy,

The loss of Ann has touched my heart. She was a dear friend to me in the years I lived in Fayetteville, from birth to age 14, when my family moved to Arizona. It was difficult to say good-bye to friends, especially to Ann. I was lucky enough to see her a couple of times over the years when I returned to Fayetteville for reunions. She faced life and its challenges with great courage, wisdom, and good humor. I know she will be greatly missed by many, and I'll bet she was a fabulous grandmother.

Grace. Dignity. Service. Humor. Never self focused always thinking of and doing for others. I so enjoyed Ann's friendship for the many years we worked together as a family and a team at the FCBE. She was one in a million. May others follow her lead for she was a role model for all ages. Much love to her sweet family.

Her love of life, gentleness & tenacity are an inspiration to me. She shared love with great generosity & my life is richer for having been her pastor & friend.
I remember with special fondness our Disciple 1 Bible study at her home from Sept - May so she could participate. It was a class in which she & I were the only members from Fayetteville United Methodist Church, the other members represented other churches in the community. She was always a wonderful hostess and it was a privilege to have that time together studying God's word.
Ann, I know you are dancing freely with the angels. Enjoy!
