Oh, Marie, what a dear precious soul you were to me and my family, as we grew up. So very sorry for the great loss this is to your family. It was the greatest of times when we visited you with such a full house. I remember the popcorn, card playing, stories of boys riding broncos!!! My Mom, Judy Ring, has especially lamenting for the last several years that she couldn't get you on the phone. So close yet so far. My Dad, Paul passed away on February 22 2017at the hospice house in Rockledge. So we understand the sad times our families are going through. I will keep you all in my prayers. Mom is still in the same house if you want to ever stop in she would be thrilled to see you. Ronnie, Gary and Gayelynn, we have a rich history together. May God give you peace.

Gary, Ronnie, GayeLynn, our prayers are with you and your family since Aunt Marie is now OK with God. I'll always remember how often she reminded me that I looked so much like Jerry. Always a smile and a hug. She is home now with my dad, Uncle Bob, Grandma and Grandpa. At some point we will all be together. God Bless you all. Love and prayers to you all.

Dear Gaylynn & family, I never met your Mom but heard you talk about her often. I know she must have been an especially great Mom to have raised such a sweet caring daughter as you. This is a difficult loss and I know your heart is heavy. I pray that your family will find comfort in sweet memories of happier times with your Mom. Sending love to you all, know that you are in my heart.

Sharon Alberti - Ballard
The matriarch of our Alberti family passed away this week.. Marie Newbrough, 90, was more than a great mother, loving grandmother, doting great-grandmother, fond aunt, crazy fun-loving cousin, special sister and forever friend...she was a HERO and the Patriarch of our tribe. Blessed and RICH with family and friends, Marie didn't always have an easy life, but understood that love and gratitude are always multiplied when you give freely. Burying three children, she stayed positive and centered in our clan. She met her childhood sweetheart, Joe, at a class reunion, at age 80. They reunited and the rest is "his-story!" Marie and Joe epitomized "Do what you feel in your heart to be right." I will miss our long talks about life, relationships and love. They say, "When an old person dies, a library is lost." Fortunate for those she touched, Marie loaned every chapter of her life in her stories and shared advice for us to cherish and reread. Thank you, Marie. I love you. We love you! LONG LIVE OUR MATRIARCH! God Bless us All!

Marie was a wonderful woman. I lived next door to her and the kids on Olive Street with my daughter Leigh Ann. I think my daughter was 2 or 3 when we moved there. We have so many great memories of Marie and the kids. Her door was always open. I also worked with her at Belks in Byrd Plaza and there wasn't a better sales person. I have thought about her many, many times since I moved to NY. My sincerest condolences to the family.

Best present wrapper ever...I have always thought of her when I did some special wrapping! There are a few of her meals that were always my favorite - in my mind because I couldn't remember how to make them! Last few times I saw her, she brought a huge smile to my face. I know she will be missed! Prayers for all of the family.

Marie was like a mother to me, I can remember sitting around her dining room table with my mom, laughing and drinking coffee. Those were good times, sorry I didn't know she was ill, I would have gone to see her.
