Charles Stanley Hollander (Stan) passed away at age 92 on March 20, 2017. Stan is survived by his wife of 65 years Veronica K. Hollander (Ronnie), his sister Mary Ann Wilson, his daughter-in-law Susan Lenk and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Adolf A. and Victoria H. Hollander, his son Brian A. Hollander and his brother Richard A. Hollander.





Stan was born in Washington D.C. on November 13, 1924. He was a graduate of McKinley Technology High School and Elon College. He was a Navy Veteran who served as an Aviation Third Class during WWII and retired as a Lieutenant from the Navel Reserve. He was employed as a Nuclear Physicist by the Naval Electronic Systems and The Department of Defense. After retiring from the government, he worked for Martin Marietta.





Stan was a 53 year resident of Bay Ridge in Annapolis; he had been coming to Bay Ridge for 82 years. Well known for his sense of humor, he loved golf, bridge, chess and fishing. He loved travel and sports; rooting for the Orioles, Redskins, UNC football and UNC basketball.





He was a 2 time president of the Bay Ridge Civic Association and a founding member of the Annapolis Neck Peninsula Federation. He was especially proud of working to convert a dump into PAL Park. He was honored in 1999 by Bay Ridge for his years of service to his community. He was a member of Annapolis Roads Golf Club and Harder Hall Golf Club in Sebring, Florida.





A visitation will be held at 11:30 am where a service will be held at 12 pm noon on Saturday, March 25th at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home located at 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bay Ridge Forest Management, 80 E. Lake Drive, Annapolis, MD 21403.
