Ann Taylor was born November 16, 1921 in Minot, ND, to Romayne and Mildred (Jacobson) Taylor. Her Grandfather, Martin Jacobson, was an early Minot Pioneer. At 5 years of age, the family moved to Kenmare, ND, where her father owned Taylor Drug Store. She passed away at the home of her daughter and son in law on March 23, 2017. She resided with them for 9 years at 4543 E. Catalina Ave., Mesa, AZ 85206.
Ann graduated in 1939 from Kenmare High School, and was Valedictorian of her class. She attended college in Jamestown and in Minot and attained her BA. She taught school in Omemee, ND, Gillette, WY, and in later years, Donnybrook, ND.
On December 28, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold Carlson and they raised their three children in Kenmare. Harold passed away in 1975.
Ann has been a member of P.E.O, Chapter L of Kenmare for 77 years. She is a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was active at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare and was a member of Circle and taught Sunday school. A big supporter of Girl Scouts, she was a troop leader for many years.
She moved to Mesa, AZ in 1978, and has resided in Sunland Village since then. She married Harry Konetzki on March 10, 1980. Harry passed away in 2004.
Ann was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, and her beloved brother, Dr. Bill Taylor.
Survivors include her three children, Paul (Mary) Carlson, Ennis, MT, Marcia (Michael) Hardy, Fargo, ND, and Carolyn (Bryan) Pratt, Mesa, AZ, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. She is also survived by her brother's children, Bill, Claire, and Ann and their families. Also Surviving are two step-sons, Wayne and Allen Konetzki and their families and nine nieces and nephews from the Carlson family.
A Memorial Service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ 85205, on April 8th at 10am
Ann was a member of Victory Lutheran Church in Mesa, AZ for 37 years. Memorials are preferred to Victory Lutheran Church for the campus of Victory Crismon.
