Norma Lois Griffith age 91 of Lincoln passed away on March 25, 2017. She was born on September 7, 1925 to George and Bertha (Groshans) Schmidt on the family farm near Deshler, Nebraska. Norma married Wesley Griffith on May 9, 1946 at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler. They owned and operated The Brettun Hotel in Winfield, Kansas. In Lincoln they owned and operated Griffith Drapery and Decorating, Frames by You and Custom Lampshades. They were charter members of Sheridan Lutheran Church. Norma served as a Luther League sponsor and was active in many other church ministries.
Norma is survived by her sons, Joe (Cheryl) Griffith of Lincoln; Jeff (Michelle) Griffith of Gretna; daughters, Pam (Lloyd) Sitzman of Shattuck, Oklahoma; Trisha (Ken) Hoppmann of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wesley; brother, George Schmidt; sisters, Edna Struve; Margaret Meyers; Helen Isernhagen; son-in-law, Bob Becker; and granddaughter, Jennifer Griffith.
There will be no visitation.
Interment will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. Please meet at Gate 2.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1200 S. 40th Street, Lincoln.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
